Snartlac

Snartlac is an Alien from the planet CalTrans. Members of his race, when alarmed, squat down and assume a position that makes them look like safety cones. Since they are very intelligent and "quick on the uptake", they recognized the income value and have been renting themselves out as safety cones practically since the moment they landed on Earth. You can often see his cousins along the freeway - watch for them! In California we mostly see the Silver Banded Snartlac, known for its highly reflective stripes around the middle. My Snartlac, from the unbanded race, helps me present safety messages.

Though he is small in stature, his abilities are immense! Able to change the course of freeway traffic lanes with his mere appearance or bring a semi-truck to a screaching halt! Disguised as a mild mannered Director of the Department of Transportation, Snartlac fights a never ending battle for smooth merges, undented state vehicles and the California way!

Epatder, also from the planet Caltrans, whose single minded goal is to hinder, delay and disrupt whenever possible. Most sightings place him at the scene of traffic jams caused by road repairs during rush hour."
